Dutch-German circular design sprint for a more circular future

June 17, 2020

In the past couple of weeks The Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Berlin brought together Dutch and German innovators, creatives, and change makers in the field of Circular Fashion for the Circular Design Sprint. The two-week multi-stakeholder virtual workshop session was organised as part of the series All Good(s), on the use of New Materials in Design, Fashion and Architecture for a more circular future. Various Dutch circular showcases from several fields (design, retail, research or production) met their German peers in an online multi-stakeholder workshop organised with Sqetch and Circular.Fashion.

Collaboration is key!

Both The Netherlands and Germany have fashion and textiles high on the agenda with formulated goals like more investment in eco-design, new business models for a circular economy and the implementation of the European Green Deal for more closed loop supply-chains.

Germany has a lot of knowledge about textile recycling, while The Netherlands focused more on CE implementations in the first phases of production. Together, we could scale ideas and collaborate with established operating brands in order to have a real impact in the international textile sector.

This fall, the cooperation between both countries and how the fashion industry and politics need each other will be theme for discussion during a public meet-up in Berlin. More info on the specific date and registration will follow soon!
