September is Circular Fashion month!

September 09, 2020

September is traditionally the most important month on the fashion calendar: the start of a new season. This year we declare it Circular Fashion month as September will be filled with numerous events that highlight the importance of a new approach to fashion. Did you know that less than 15% of clothes are collected for recycling, and less than 1% of the material used to produce clothing is recycled into new clothing? Circular Economy strategies have the potential to offer solutions for the fashion industry: use renewable sources, phase out dangerous substances, increase utilization and radically improve reuse and recycling.

In the Dutch Sustainable Fashion Week (24-30 September) Holland Circular Hotspot together with RVO will launch a brochure on the challenges and solutions for a circular fashion and textile industry. Keep an eye on our website for updates about the launching event.
