‘Circular agrifood and biomass: Food and materials for a sustainable future’

The workshop aims at providing an overview of today’s challenges and solutions in the field of circular agrifood and biomass, showing how a circular approach can create concrete socio-environmental value and positively contribute to a climate neutral world.

Building on the outcomes of the recently released brochure “Circular agrifood & biomass: Food & materials for a sustainable future”, the event will also showcase Dutch innovations and best practices, varying from food waste measurements, liquid coating of fruits, community led farming, upcycling of side streams in agrifood, circular feed, algae, insect breeding, and alternative proteins.

These showcases are already successful in supporting our goals to provide healthy, safe and tasty food for 9 billion people within the planetary boundaries. This is indeed an immense challenge that we can overcome only by working together across sectors and borders. How best to get there will be the primary focus of the panel discussion that will conclude the session.
