Circular Hotspot Events 2027 – 2028

Every year, the Circular Hotspot Event series travels to new cities, regions and countries. Each local host puts its circular economy progress on a global stage. The next two years bring the series to Asia, Central and Eastern Europe, Africa and the Baltics.

Below is an overview of the confirmed Circular Hotspot Events for 2027 and 2028.

Circular Hotspot Events in 2027

Lagos Circular Hotspot NXT 2027 | Lagos, Nigeria | February 2027

Hosted by the Lagos State Government, through the Office of the Special Adviser on Climate Change & Circular Economy.

In 2023, Lagos hosted the first Circular Hotspot Event on the African continent, bringing together government, business, innovators, investors and other stakeholders to explore what a more circular and resourceful economy could look like for the city and beyond. Now, Lagos Circular Hotspot NXT 2027 will build on that foundation, taking the conversation from momentum to deeper collaboration, investment and implementation.

Asia Pacific Circular Hotspot 2027 | Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia | 12 – 14 July 2027

Hosted by the Waste Management Association of Malaysia (WMAM) and partners. Following Taipei in 2025 and Sydney in 2026, the third Asia Pacific edition will look beyond waste management to the wider circular economy. It will focus on turning ambition into delivery and on building stronger links between Malaysian and international businesses.

Brno Circular Hotspot 2027 | Brno, Czech Republic | 20-22 October 2027

Hosted by SUSTAINOVA, this is the European edition for 2027. Brno brings a strong innovation ecosystem in Central Europe’s industrial heartland, which makes it a natural gateway for scaling circular solutions across the region.

The event will bring together key stakeholders to explore innovative circular solutions across a diverse range of sectors, including healthcare, energy, construction, mobility, fashion, agriculture, product design, and AI & technology. By highlighting these focus areas, the event aims to showcase how circular principles can be applied across industries to drive sustainable transformation.

With a conference capacity of over 650 participants, the three-day event is designed to foster meaningful exchange, collaboration, and knowledge sharing among businesses, policymakers, researchers, and innovators.

The programme combines a dynamic conference experience with dedicated networking opportunities and curated site visits. These excursions will offer participants firsthand insights into real-world applications of circular economy practices, providing inspiration and practical examples from leading organisations and local initiatives.
