A fast-growing and promising market in northern Africa

Waste management is an important public service in Egypt. In 2021, 105 million inhabitants produced about 47 million tons of waste. Due to the strong population growth, this waste will grow, and with it the importance of efficient waste processing. The waste processing system in Egypt must be adapted accordingly. This offers opportunities for Dutch companies active in waste processing and the circular economy.

A more in-depth market study is currently being carried out into waste streams from households and from agriculture in Egypt. The study will provide insight into the market opportunities in the waste management process, such as the collection, sorting, processing and recycling of waste.

This trade mission will follow after completion of the market study, in order to capitalize on the opportunities for the Dutch business community. The mission is intended to explore the market and to present Dutch expertise in Egypt.
