Cooperation and joining forces with Belgium

As highly industrialized and densely populated countries, the Netherlands and Belgium face the challenge of:

  • making cities and industry more sustainable;
  • to be climate neutral by 2050.

More and more companies are embracing the EU’s Net Zero agenda to implement the Paris climate agreement. Technological solutions are important to make this transition possible. This offers opportunities for the Belgian and Dutch business community.

Both countries are leaders in Europe in the field of circular economy and have innovative businesses. In addition, leading knowledge institutions contribute technological solutions for a sustainable future and a clean living environment. By cooperating and joining forces, Dutch and Belgian players can increase their joint competitive position in the world. The climate and energy transition mainly offers opportunities for the hydrogen, agriculture, construction and mobility sectors.

During this mission you will discover the possibilities of the Belgian market. You will become acquainted with important players and potential partners in your field. The mission also offers you the opportunity to speak with representatives of the European Union. This will give you more insight into future developments and opportunities in the EU and EU regulations. The aim of this mission is to strengthen the cooperation and knowledge exchange between Belgium and the Netherlands with a view to a sustainable future.

This mission will take place parallel to the state visit of His Majesty King Willem-Alexander and Her Majesty Queen Máxima to Belgium.
