About IFAT

IFAT is the world’s leading platform for environmental technologies, bringing together global innovators in water, waste and resource management. With decades of experience across Europe, Asia and beyond, the IFAT network has become a trusted meeting point for solution providers, industry leaders and public-sector partners shaping the future of sustainability.
In 2026, IFAT comes to Saudi Arabia for the first time—at a moment when the Kingdom is taking major steps toward circularity and modern environmental management. Supported by the National Center for Waste Management (MWAN) and aligned with the ambitions of Vision 2030, IFAT Saudi Arabia showcases breakthrough solutions in waste management, recycling, waste-to-energy, water treatment, desalination, digitalisation and more.
IFAT brings you:
  • 18,000+ visitors from 160+ countries — direct access to government bodies, utilities and industry decision-makers.
  • 450+ exhibitors from 35+ countries — a global overview of proven circular and waste-management solutions.
  • 12+ country pavilions — strong international presence and new cross-border collaboration opportunities.
  • Insightful policy and industry panels — perspectives from key Saudi institutions such as MWAN, MEWA and SIRC on upcoming needs and opportunities.

Opportunities in Saudi Arabia

Saudi Arabia is entering one of the most transformative phases in its environmental agenda. Rapid urban growth, Vision 2030 ambitions and the national commitment to Net Zero by 2060 are reshaping the Kingdom’s waste and water sectors at unprecedented speed. Backed by strong fiscal position, the country is opening USD 112 billion in private investment opportunities in waste and allocating USD 80 billion to water projects— creating significant momentum to collaborate with Saudi stakeholders.
As Saudi Arabia plans to moves away from landfill dependency and builds a modern circular system, the demand for proven, scalable international solutions is accelerating. The national targets—91% source-segregated waste, 79% prepared for recycling, 90% diversion from landfills by 2040, and plans to treat over 100 million tonnes of waste by 2035—highlight a market ready for rapid adoption of innovative technologies.
In five years from now, Saudi Arabia will host Expo 2030 and later on World Cup 2034. With its strategic location at the crossroads of West Asia and the Gulf, Saudi Arabia offers a gateway to neighbouring markets and wider regional networks. This combination of ambition, scale and regional connectivity creates a window of opportunity for companies that move early.
For Dutch circular innovators, waste-management specialists and clean-tech entrepreneurs, the Kingdom represents one of the most compelling expansion opportunities in today’s global circular economy landscape.
