Just announced: Three editions of the European Circular hotspots in 2028
October 12, 2026
NEW CIRCULAR HOTSPOTS ELECTED! Not one, but THREE editions of the European Circular Hotspots in 2028.
We’re delighted to announce that 2028 will bring two exciting Circular Hotspots to Europe: Romania and the Baltic Circular Hotspot, hosted by Lithuanian and Estonian editions.
Baltic Circular Hotspot
The Baltic Circular Hotspot will unfold across two editions in 2028, connecting Lithuania and Estonia in a shared effort to advance the circular economy and strengthen the resilience of the Baltic region.
Lithuania in summer 2028, hosted by Innovation Agency Lithuania | Global and partners; and
Estonia in autumn 2028, hosted by the KIK (Environmental Investment Centre) and partners.
Romania Circular Hotspot
The Romania Circular Hotspot will take place in 2028, hosted by the Circular Economy Coalition – CERC. The hotspot will show where Romania stands on its circular economy journey and, most importantly, tap into its potential to accelerate circularity and turn opportunities into action.
Together, these three editions will be catalysts for circular action, bringing together local and international experts and practitioners from the public and private sectors — not just to talk about the circular economy, but to turn words into action.
Three new European Circular Hotspot editions have been approved by a nine-member jury from Hungary, Czechia, Germany, Nigeria and the Netherlands at the Budapest Circular Hotspot 2026.
We congratulate Estonia, Lithuania and Romania on bringing powerful Circular Hotspot events to their regions — and on taking the lead in taking action and making change happen.
